I’m excited about our August workshops at Lake Logan Conference Center just south or Waynesville in the beautiful mountains of Western North Carolina!
And thrilled, too, to bring in both Leisa Rich and Lauren Mantecon.
Leisa Rich’s workshop, Paper, Rock, Scissors: Dimensional Paintings on Paper and Fabric is a dynamic paper, paint and textiles-based workshop that will feature painting, printing, marbling, heat transfer, collage and stitch techniques on various substrates to build texture and create strong visual impact.
Sounds incredible, doesn’t it! Here’s a quote from Lisa’s interview with a local tv program from Irvine, TX where she taught last August. In it she explains her approach to Fiber Art, “You can think of it as a way of painting with thread …” Click here to see the two minute interview.
In another vein, Lauren Mantecon teaches The Alchemy of Painting – Exploring Expressive Painting and Mixed Media Techniques from the Ground Up. In this workshop, Lauren will lead participants to explore our deepest knowing by stilling the body through short meditations and guided visualization – gently nudging us to the places that hold a deep reservoir of imagery. And from there, anything can happen, and it will too! In this short video, Lauren takes a few minutes to introduce herself as a teaching artist and go over her process of creating art: Here.
Want to bring a spouse or partner? Let me know, special rates are available.
