Cullowhee Arts exists to support artists who have a serious interest in furthering their studio practice. We are committed to providing exceptional art instruction in superb facilities in an array of inspiring locations. Our workshops and programs promise to stimulate your imagination with instruction of the highest caliber taught by artists of national and international reputation.
Cullowhee Arts believes the arts energize every facet of life and that the arts invigorate communities. We know that when artists work and learn together ideas blossom and grow, lasting relationships are forged, and creativity flourishes. We are committed to this process. When artists return to their own communities after our workshops, they bring their excitement, imagination, and new visions. Cullowhee Arts was born out of a desire to support artists with meaningful and high quality fine art workshops and experiences. More
Our Cullowhee Arts’ 2018 workshop calendar has been created for all levels of interest and experience with a wide range of media and topics. Our carefully chosen instructors, bearing impressive records of exhibitions and teaching, come from all regions of the US bringing rich experiences, professional knowledge, and expertise. The workshops are structured so that students can focus exclusively on developing their art without the distractions of daily life.
Cullowhee Arts does not maintain a “bricks and mortar” complex. Our partnerships with Western Carolina University, Lake Logan Conference Center, the Mabel Dodge Luhan House in Taos, NM and The Clancy Building Studio, Snow Hill, Maryland, allow us to share resources and keep our overhead sustainable. We also host international workshops. This year in Takapuna, New Zealand in February and Durfort, France in September.
